Ruya Is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist offering supportive, strength-based therapy to her clients. She has a B.A. in Psychology from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and an M.A. in Counseling with Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Webster University in Irvine, California. Throughout her carrier, Ruya has worked with clients with a variety of issues and from all socio-economic, cultural and religious backgrounds. Her experience in College Hospital, a mental health facility, trained her to understand how different mental health issues can be compounded by trauma and substance abuse, as well as preparing her for dealing with clients with variety of mental health problems. She has extensive experience with children, adolescents and adults who had experienced different traumas. Among her areas of experience are anxiety, depression, trauma resolution, addiction recovery, self-esteem issues, women's issues, adolescents' issues and family problems. She is trained to utilize many different treatment modalities and treatment techniques, including EMDR, depending on the client's needs.

Ruya believes that her clients have an innate potential for growth and with guidance and support they can persevere through difficult times. She believes in empathy, compassion and collaboration in order for real change to happen, as well as believing that therapy can help people develop the appropriate skills to cope with challenges of life. Ruya makes it her mission to help her client's develop coping skills and make the changes they need to live a more fulfilling and productive life.
